I bought this dirt bike for my son, for his 6th birthday. He has a great "need for speed" and this bike gives him what he needs! However, it doesn't go so fast that he could be badly hurt. Of course, he wears all the protective gear just in case. What I like about it is that it is very quiet (thanks to the electric motor) and it will run for a long time on one charge. He has only "run out of gas", as he calls it, once since receiving the bike...and that was after several hours of pretty much steady driving. The bike is very sturdy. The directions for assembly could have been a bit more clear, but other than that we have no complaints. I think this is one of the best purchases I've made.
